Toddler rides on car's hood

October 3, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The mother of a toddler and a motorist are charged in Rusk County with endangering the safety of a child by allowing him to ride on the hood of the car. A criminal complaint says police received several calls after local residents spotted a 3 year old boy and his mother Samantha Taylor-Raymond riding on the hood of a car. The driver, Casey Dicus, told police the boy asked to ride on the hood, so he drove just a few blocks with Samantha holding her child on the hood. Dicus told police "it was a stupid thing to do". Dicus and Taylor-Redmond, both age 23, are facing felony charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
