Free Estate planning kit

March 9, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The American Heart Association is offering a free Will and Estate Planning kit.

The organization came up with the kit as a means to help walk you through the important process of estate planning.

Ed Rodbro with the American Heart Association stresses they are not providing legal advice, just tips to help you gather the appropriate information and get on the right track to start the process of estate planning. He says everyone should have a will.

If you've already done your will, Rodbro says it's a good idea to take another look at it. Laws change and your situation might have changed — you could be married, divorced, or have kids. In addition to putting your decisions in writing, it's important to talk to your family members and your attorney.

Rodbro says it's estimated that just one in seven Americans has created a will or other such document prior to death.

To get your free kit call the American Heart Association at 800-242-9236.
