Another baby dead from sleeping adult

April 20, 2009 By WRN Contributor

The death of a three-year-old Sunday with a caretaker marks what appears to be the third co-sleeping death of a Milwaukee infant in little more than a month. Preliminary investigations say the death was accidental. On March 6 a six-day-old was found dead in her home. She appeared to have been smothered. Another 3-month-old died April 5 after his grandmother apparently smothered him while they slept on a couch.

Milwaukee isn't the only place who's seen a case like this. Earlier this month a 10-month-old in Wausau  died after sharing a bed with his mother.

Recently WRN spoke with the state health officer on what may be an escalating trend.
