Barnett one of two Packers to start on PUP list

July 31, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Nick Barnett A pair of Green Bay Packers' linebackers, Nick Barnett and Brad Jones both failed their physicals today and will start training camp workouts on Saturday on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Neither will be allowed to practice until they're able to pass their physicals.

Barnett is coming off of reconstructive knee surgery.  He didn't practice all offseason during OTA's and minicamp.  Coach Mike McCarthy said he wasn't sure when Barnett would be cleared.

Jones is the Packers rookie seventh-round pick.  He hurt his back during today's conditioning test.
