Jury deadlocked in prayer death trial

July 31, 2009 By WRN Contributor

A jury of six men and six women deciding the fate of Weston prayer death parent Dale Neumann deadlocked after nine hours of deliberations Friday.

Judge Vincent Howard told the jury to sleep on it and resume deliberations Saturday morning in an effort to reach a verdict.

The jury of six men and six women asked to see Dale Neumann’s home and cell phone records and a transcript of his interview with police.  Prosecutors allege Neumann recklessly caused his daughter’s death last Easter Sunday by choosing prayer over medicine.

The girl's mother, Leilani Neumann , was found guilty in May of reckless homicide in the death of her daughter.  She'll be sentenced in October.
