Four dead in trailer park shooting

August 17, 2009 By WRN Contributor

Four people are dead and one wounded after a weekend shooting in Menomonie. Police responded to reports of gunfire at the Evergreen Isle Trailer Park at around 10:30 Saturday night.

Three brothers, Siong Kong, Toua Kong, both in their 20's, and Seng Kong, age 13, were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth shooting victim, Toua Xiong, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The suspect in the shootings is Geu Tou Vang of St. Paul, who police say then turned the gun on himself and died Monday in the hospital.

While investigators believe the victims all knew the suspect, a motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There was alcohol recovered at the scene, though its involvement won't be known until toxicology results are reviewed. Police say the shooting does not appear to be directly gang or drug related, though gang affiliations with some individuals involved are being investigated.
