Brewers end home season with 6-5 loss to Phillies

September 28, 2009 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers ended the home portion of their schedule with a 6-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Miller Park on Sunday.  The Brewers will take today off and then play the final week of the season on the road, starting with a three-game series at Colorado followed by a 3-game weekend series in St. Louis.

Jimmy Rollins hit his 21st home run of the season for the Phillies and Ryan Howard tied Prince Fielder for the major league RBI lead.  The win for the Phillies cut the team’s magic number to 3 to clinch their 3rd straight American League East.

The Brewers finished the season, drawing 3,037,451 fans, averaging 37,499 fans per game.  That’s just off the record setting figures of a year ago.

The Brewers got home runs from Mike Cameron (23rd) and Mat Gamel (5th) in the loss.  The Brewers are 2-games under .500 (77-79) with six games left.
