Wisconsin senior Trevon Hughes was named Big Ten Player of the Week, following his performances in a pair of wins over No. 6 Duke and Grambling State.
Hughes averaged 23.0 points per game last week, including a career-high 26 points in the Badgers upset win over Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
This is Hughes’ first Player of the Week honor and Wisconsin’s first since Joe Krabbenhoft took home the accolade on Fe. 16, 2009. He is the first UW guard to win the honor since Kammron Taylor on Jan. 15, 2007. His 16.7 points per game average is tied for sixth in the Big Ten.
