Salmons opts out of deal

June 30, 2010 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks forward John Salmons opted out of the final year of his contract on Tuesday, a move the Bucks had expected since the season ended.

The move means Salmons will be an unrestricted free agent tomorrow (Thursday) when NBA teams are allowed to begin contract discussions with free agents.

The Bucks say they remain very interested in re-signing the 6’6 shooting guard to a multi-year deal, after he averaged 19.9 points a game and was a key ingredient to the Bucks march to the playoffs.
