Burnett closing in on deal with Packers

July 14, 2010 By Bill Scott

Green Bay Packers third round draft pick Morgan Burnett is close to a deal with the Packers.

Burnett’s agent told the Green Bay Press Gazette that the two parties are in the final stages of settling on a signing bonus and the structure of the contract.  A deal could be in place by the end of the week.

Burnett lined up at safety with the #1 defense during the off-season and could make a strong push for that job in training camp.

The Packers currently have four of their 7 draft picks in the fold.
