Green Bay’s Bollant honored again

July 15, 2010 By Bill Scott

For the second straight season, Green Bay women’s basketball coach Matt Bollant has been selected as the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association
D-I/II Coach of the Year.

The award comes on the heels of Bollant’s third consecutive 25+ winning season and a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.  During the 2009-10 campaign, Green Bay became the youngest team in program history to reach the NCAA Tournament while earning the first ever Horizon League at-large bid.  Bollant led the Phoenix to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a thrilling 69-67 win over No. 5 seed Virginia, the highest seed Green Bay has ever beaten in the tournament.
