Vruwink retains Assembly seat

November 3, 2010 By WRN Contributor

Tuesday was her due date, and also the day a state lawmaker won reelection to the state Assembly. “Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work,” said Vruwink. “I’ve never been a member of the legislature where I throw bombs, so now my job is to get down there, to get back to work, to make sure seniors and children continue to have health care coverage, and we continue to grow our ag economy.” Vruwink defeated Republican John Spiros, a Marshfield alderman, to win her fifth two-year term. Vruwink’s 70th Assembly district covers parts of Wood, Portage, and Marathon Counties.
