Sanders heads to NBA D-league

February 21, 2011 By Bill Scott

When the Milwaukee Bucks return to practice today, they won’t have first round pick Larry Sanders.  The Bucks sent Sanders to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA‘s Development League.

Bucks General Manager John Hammond said it’s an opportunity for Sanders to receive regular minutes and continue his skill development.

Sanders was selected by the Bucks with the 15th overall pick out of Virginia Commonwealth in the 2010 NBA Draft.  In 36 games, he is averaging 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds a game.
