MU’s Robinson to Minnesota on WNBA Draft night

April 12, 2011 By Bill Scott

Marquette University star Angel Robinson was picked 22nd overall in the WNBA draft by the New York Liberty.  When the draft was over, Robinson was dealt to the Minnesota Lynx.

Robinson averaged 13.6 points a game at Marquette last season and becomes just the second Marquette player to be selected by the WNBA.  She joins Abbie Willenborg, who was taken by the Houston Comets with the 64th pick in 2000.

Robinson will be joined by 4-time All-American Maya Moore of Connecticut.  She was taken by the Lynx with the first pick in the draft.
