Another “No Call” deadline

May 31, 2011 By Andrew Beckett

Time is running out to register for latest version of the state’s “No Call” list for telemarketers. Consumers have until the end of today to sign up for the spring update of the wildly popular service, which Division of Consumer Protection Administrator Sandy Chalmers says should reduce the number of unwanted sales calls you receive.

Registrations for residential and cell phone lines are good for two years, although Chalmers says you can continue to sign up each time. She says the length of time you spend on the list is extended by two years every time you add your number.

Chalmers says registration is quick and fairly simple. You can add your number by calling 1-866-9NO-CALL or by visiting the agency’s website.

The list does not prevent calls from charities, survey and poll takers, or political campaigns.

Chalmers says you should not worry if you miss this deadline. The list is updated every three months.
