Group seeks Prosser resignation

July 12, 2011 By Bob Hague

A Madison-based progressive activist group is trying to apply pressure on state Supreme Court Justice David Prosser to resign. The group, One Wisconsin Now, is headed by Scott Ross. “In just over three days we had ten thousand people sign our petition, demanding that Prosser resign for his attack against Ann Walsh Bradley,” said Ross, calling that “an unprecedented outpouring of opposition” against a member of the supreme court.

The petition effort continues, as the Dane County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin Judicial Commission  investigate what exactly occurred between the justices last month. “I think it’s very important that we have law enforcement look into this,” said Ross. Prosser is alleged to have placed his hands on Bradley’s throat – he claims incidental contact when she came at him during a heated exchange over collective bargaining.
