Legendary Badger fan event returns

July 20, 2011 By Brian Moon

A tradition among Wisconsin Badger fans returns Monday, July 25. Many are familiar with the past annual Kalscheur Steak Fry which back in 2006 attracted several hundred people. The event was resurrected last year for the Badger Wrestling Club which benefits Wisconsin wrestlers aspiring to Olympic competition.

UW Wrestling Coach Barry Davis says it’s a place not just for fans of wrestling – but of UW-Athletics – as Football Coach Bret Bielema as well as Hockey Coaches Mike Eaves and Mark Johnson will be on hand.

Three-time World Champion Wrestler and UW Alum Lee Kemp will also be in attendance.

Davis says wrestling is not a big money making sport so the hard working athletes need support with these fundraisers.

The Steak Fry – held on the Jim Kalscheur Farm in Pine Bluff – will also feature football, wrestling and hockey memorabilia available for auction.
