Kelsey ERA tips off in Madison Thursday

November 2, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Bobbie Kelsey era for Wisconsin women’s basketball kicks off on Thursday

Bobbie Kelsey

night when the Badgers (16-15 in 2010-11) host UW-Whitewater (21-7) in an exhibition at 7pm in the Kohl Center.

Kelsey was a former player and assistant coach at Stanford and is in her first season with the Badgers.  She replaced Lisa Stone, who led Wisconsin to the NCAA Tournament only once in eight seasons.

Because of graduation and turnover, Kelsey has only 12 players on her roster this season.  Kelsey admits that she’s concerned with that low number.

The Badgers lost their top three scorers from last season, but Kelsey said she’s not worried about where points are going to come from.

Following Thursday night’s exhibition against Whitewater, the Badgers will take on Parkside at 1pm on Sunday.  They’ll tip-off the regular season on Friday, November 11 at UW-Milwaukee (7pm Klotsche Center).
