Green Bay women reach another milestone

January 17, 2012 By Bill Scott

After setting a program-record 35th consecutive regular season win, the Green Bay Phoenix (15-0, 5-0 Horizon League) women’s basketball team reached another program best when they drew a No. 12 ranking in the Associated Press top 25 college basketball poll.

The highest previous ranking Green Bay received as No. 13 in the final poll of the season on April 5, 2011.

Green Bay is currently one of two unbeaten teams in the country, including #1 Baylor (17-0) who the Phoenix met in the Sweet 16 round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

Green Bay hosts Youngstown State on Thursday night at the Kress Events Center.
