Bucks’ Gooden names Player of the Week

March 20, 2012 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks forward Drew Gooden has been named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played March 12-18.  The honor is the first of Gooden’s career and follows Ersan Ilyasova’s win from last week.  It’s the first time a pair of Bucks players have been awarded Player of the Week honors in consecutive weeks since 2006 when Mo Williams and Michael Redd won it in back to back weeks.

Gooden averaged 18.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 8.0 assists a game in three Bucks wins.

The Bucks have won five straight games.  They’ll look to make it six straight when they face the Golden State Warriors in Oakland tonight.
