The UW-Milwaukee Panthers will get to fight the fight for at least one more day.
The Panthers accepted an invitation to play in the 16-team College Basketball Invitational on Sunday. The Panthers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for a first round game against Texas Christian University (17-14) on Tuesday.
The Panthers (20-13) bowed out of the Horizon League Tournament in the second round with a 71-49 loss to Butler.
UWM will be making their sixth NCAA Division I postseason appearance. The Panthers have played in the NCAA tournament three times and the NIT twice.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s team will not play in the postseason.
The Phoenix, which finished 15-15 overall and 10-8 in the Horizon League, was one of the last teams left out of the College Insider Tournament.
Former UWGB coach Tod Kowalczyk, however, got his new team, Toledo into the CIT field.
