Toddler dies after drinking gas

May 7, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A young girl has died after drinking gasoline. The Dane County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the two year-old girl’s death, after she and her four year-old brother ingested gasoline Sunday night. The incident occurred in the Town of Medina, according to Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Elise Schaeffer. Detectives are trying to determine what happened, although initial reports indicate the two children climbed into the back of a neighbor’s car where a gas can was being stored. The mother and children live in Portage, but were staying with a friend. The four year-old boy remains hospitalized.
