Two teens drowned in separate incidents over the weekend in Wisconsin. On Sunday night, in an area with posted signs about no lifeguards and swimming at your own risk, a teen dove off a pier in Quarry Lake Park in the Village of Mount Pleasant.
The 16-year-old failed to surface. Fire department divers found him not breathing 30 minutes after the 9-1-1 call. South Shore paramedics rushed the teen to the All Saints Medical campus, as Flight For Life was en route, but he didn’t make it.
A 16-year-old boy drowned Saturday afternoon in Waushara County. Authorities say he struggled while swimming with two friends in Silver Lake in the town of Marion. A boater threw a floatation device their way but they were not able to grab onto it before the teen went under late Saturday afternoon. Rescue divers from Princeton later found the teen’s body in about nine-feet of water.
On Sunday, he was identified as Blake Lieders of Fond du Lac.
