Ball won’t be ready to practice when camp opens Monday

August 2, 2012 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger running back Montee Ball won’t be ready when the Badgers hit the practice field on Monday in Madison.  Ball suffered a concussion after being attacked early Wednesday morning.

The Wisconsin State Journal is reporting that Bielema broke the news during the taping of a show at WISC-TV studios in Madison today.

Bielema didn’t say Ball would suffer any long-term problems.  He said Ball’s absence will spare last year’s Heisman Trophy finalist hits and give other running backs in camp more repetitions.

The Badgers open the season at home against Northern Iowa on September 1.
