Two dead in Milwaukee plant shooting

August 3, 2012 By WRN Contributor

Police in Milwaukee are investigating a workplace shooting which left two people dead. A man shot his supervisor to death, and then killed himself at around 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Trans-Coil International on the city’s northwest side.

Police said a 58-year-old supervisor was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. A 23-year-old employee was found dead in the plant with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Officers recovered a handgun at the scene. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the shootings.

TCI president Steven Copp called it a tragedy for the families of both men, and for the company – which makes electronics for industrial equipment. The shootings occurred during the plant’s second shift. Third-shift workers were sent home, and were told the plant would stay closed Friday.
