Bruesewitz anxious to get back to work

October 24, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Wisconsin Badger men’s basketball team is practicing daily, getting ready

Mike Bruesewitz

for the start of the 2012-13 college basketball season.  One member of the team that isn’t working with the team is senior forward Mike Bruesewitz.

Bruesewitz is still recovering from a seven-inch long gash on his shin, as a result of a fall he took during player workouts recently.  Bruesewitz said he was pretty scared at the time.

Bruesewitz said he does expect to be a little timid in his return, but he doesn’t expect it to last long.  His focus now is getting back into shape.

Bruesewitz underwent surgery on Oct. 9 and left the hospital the same day.

The prognosis for a return is 4 to 6 weeks.  Bruesewitz is hoping to be back and ready by the time the Badgers open their season Nov. 11 against Southeastern Louisiana at the Kohl Center.
