Plane crashes on interstate

October 23, 2012 By WRN Contributor

In the midst of a rain storm, a twin engine plane crash landed on I-94 in Racine County, Monday evening, but no one was seriously hurt. It happened along the southbound lanes, with the plane suffering extensive damage, and blocked all three lanes of travel.

A sheriff’s department release says the pilot was headed to nearby Sylvania Airport, a small private airstrip right off the interstate. The man walked away unharmed, while a female passenger had non-life threatening injuries, and went to a Kenosha hospital.

Both the Racine County Sheriff’s Department and F.A.A. are investigating the circumstances of the crash landing.
