Driver arrested for striking Amish buggy

November 1, 2012 By WRN Contributor

Five people were injured when an Amish buggy was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Barron County Wednesday night. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the incident occurred near Chetek at about 9:30. The passengers, three children and two adults, were all ejected from the buggy after it was struck by a truck. The driver then fled the scene. “Our detectives located that truck and arrested the driver, based on some tips that we had received,” he said. The driver is identified as 40 year-old Brian Holst.  The occupants of the buggy were Felty and Lorene Lambright and their three children, Marilyn, Amanda and Luella. At least one of the injuries was serious.
