Nebraska or Michigan? Answer could be coming Friday

November 23, 2012 By Bill Scott

With sanctions keeping Ohio State and Penn State out of post season play this year, the Big Ten Leaders Division wasn’t expected to be much of a race.  It wasn’t.  The Wisconsin Badgers blowout win of Indiana on November 10th clinched a 2nd straight trip to Indianapolis for UW with 2-games left in the regular season.

The Legends division has been a different story.  Entering the final week of the regular season, it comes down to #14 Nebraska and #19 Michigan.  Each team is 6-1 in the Big Ten with Nebraska holding the tie-breaker.

The Huskers road appears to be simple as they are in with a victory in Iowa today at 11:00.  Nebraska is a 16 1/2 point favorite.  If the Hawkeyes pull the upset, the door would be opened for Michigan on Saturday.  However, the Wolverines would have to go to Columbus and knock off unbeaten Ohio State to punch a ticket to Indy.  Ohio State is favored by 3 1/2 points.  If both teams lose, Nebraska still goes.

Wisconsin wraps up the regular season Saturday with a 2:30 visit to Penn State.  The Badgers have not won in Beaver Stadium since 2003.
