Referendum at the polls

November 6, 2012 By WRN Contributor

Election Day is about more than just the presidential race.

The other big race in Wisconsin is the fight for Herb Kohl’s seat in the US Senate. And, almost 30 Wisconsin school districts will hold referendums.

The Middleton-Cross Plains district has the biggest one. Voters will be asked to approve $60 million for additions and renovations to a couple of middle schools. There are three referendum questions in the Milwaukee suburb of Franklin totaling $49 million. In the Green Bay area, Pulaski voters are being asked to approve $33 million for various school renovations and technology upgrades, $26 million in Antigo, $19 million in Lake Mills, $17 million in East Troy, and a number of school districts will ask voters to exceed their state-mandated taxing limits.
