Busy weekend in Division 1 College Hoops

December 21, 2012 By Bill Scott

With semesters wrapping up and exams being held, the College Basketball schedule usually thins out at this time year.  However, this weekend is packed with all eight D1 Men’s and Women’s team finding the court.

The Badger men have not played since December 12th when they beat Green Bay at the Kohl Center.  Saturday, Wisconsin will get a visit from another in-state rival, Milwaukee.  That game will tip at 8:15 pm.

The Marquette men will try to bounce back from Wednesday’s loss in Green Bay as LSU visits the BMO Harris Bradley Center Saturday.  Sophomore Todd Mayo will make his return to the team after being academically ineligible for the teams first 10-games.  The Golden Eagles and Tigers will tip at 1:00 pm.

As for Green Bay Men, they will look to keep the momentum moving forward as South Dakota visits the Resch Center Saturday night for a 7:00 tip-off.

On the women’s side, Marquette got the busy weekend started early with a 70-52 win over Dartmouth Thursday night.  Wisconsin travels to the Kress Events Center in Green Bay Sunday to take on the Phoenix in a 7:00 tip.  The Milwaukee Women are also in action Sunday, they host North Dakota State.
