Green Bay returns home, falls to Southern Illinois

December 16, 2012 By Bill Scott

Sophomore Keifer Sykes scored a game-high 22 points on Saturday, but visiting Southern Illinois (5-2) handed the Green Bay Phoenix a 72-70 loss at the Resch Center in Green Bay.  It’s the first non-conference home loss for the Phoenix dating back to Dec. 8, 2010.

The Salukis entered the game shooting just 63.4% from the foul line but connected on 16 of 19 free throws (84.2%) for the game.

The Phoenix fall to 3-7 with the loss.  They’ll host Marquette at the Resch Center on Wednesday night.
