Marquette is leaving the Big East

December 14, 2012 By Bill Scott

Marquette is joining the other Big East non-football members in leaving the conference.

Officials from Marquette, St. John’s, Georgetown, Seton Hall, DePaul, Providence and Villanova are all still sorting through the details, trying to figure how best to split from the conference.

Marquette joined the Big East Conference originally in 2005, along with DePaul.

An official announcement could come as early as today.
