Oneida County fire kills two

February 13, 2013 By WRN Contributor

A house fire in Oneida County has claimed two lives. Five rural fire departments were called to a home about 17 miles northwest of Rhinelander just before 4:30 Tuesday morning, finding the house fully engulfed in flames.

Oneida County Sheriff Grady Hartman says the Medical Examiner was called to investigate the exact cause of the death for the two people found inside.

Investigators believe the victims were the couple who lived in the house. Their vehicles were found in the garage, and they could not be located. A positive identification of the bodies could be completed today.

The state Fire Marshall has been called in to help the Town of Cassian Fire Department determine what caused the deadly fire.
