Big Ten heats up again, Badgers could use a do-over

March 6, 2013 By Bill Scott

Just think, if the Wisconsin Badger men’s basketball team hadn’t completely laid an egg last Sunday on Senior Day against Purdue, they’d be sitting atop the Big Ten Conference this morning.

The Wisconsin loss to the Boilermakers dropped them 2-games behind Indiana and it gave Indiana at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title.

Tuesday night in Bloomington, the Hoosiers were celebrating a share of the conference title, as well as the final home game for their seniors.  But there would be no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for Indiana.  The Hoosiers were beaten by Ohio State 67-58, which opened the door again for several teams, including the Badgers.

Wisconsin still needs the Hoosiers to lose their final game on Sunday at Michigan, while winning both of its remaining games at Michigan State on Thursday and at Penn State on Sunday, but at least there’s still a chance.

It should make for a fun final week in the Big Ten, but the Badgers and their fans can’t help but think what could have been
