Child dies after pit bull attack

March 7, 2013 By WRN Contributor

Officials in southeastern Wisconsin say a 14-month-old boy is dead after being attacked by two pit bulls.

The Walworth County Sheriff’s Department says 30-year-old Susan Iwicki called 911 Wednesday afternoon to report that she and the boy were being attacked by the two dogs, which she owned. The boy was transported from the Town of Walworth to a Milwaukee area hospital, where he died a few hours later.

Authorities have not said how the woman and the boy were related, although relatives have said Iwicki was babysitting the child.

The dogs were taken from the property and euthanized. An investigation into the attack is ongoing.
