Marquette remains in Big East title hunt

March 6, 2013 By Bill Scott

Jamil Wilson scored all 10 of his points in the second half as 15th ranked Marquette rebounded from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat Rutgers 60-54 and keep their Big East title hopes alive.

Vander Blue scored 22 points and sealed the win with a couple of late free throws.

Marquette (22-7, 13-4) still needs 1st place Georgetown to lose one of its two remaining games (Villanova & Syracuse) and the Golden Eagles must finish out with a win at St. John’s on Saturday to grab at least a share of the Big East title.  Louisville is also even with Marquette at 13-4 and can figure into the title chase as well.
