Paup leaving for Northern Iowa

March 5, 2013 By Bill Scott

Former Green Bay Packers linebacker Bryce Paup has resigned his position as head coach at Green Bay Southwest High School to take an assistant coaching position at Northern Iowa where he starred collegiately.

Paup played linebacker at Northern Iowa before being selected in the 6th round of the NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers in 1990.

Paup went 43-21 in his six seasons at Southwest, including back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2011 and 2012.

It’s expected Paup will coach linebackers at Northern Iowa.  That position is one of three currently open on the school’s coaching staff.
