Police officer stabbed at state office building

April 10, 2013 By Andrew Beckett

The state Department of Administration says a Capitol Police officer was stabbed in the neck Wednesday, while responding to call at a state facility.

The incident occurred just after 1:00 p.m. at the State Office Building in Milwaukee. Two officers were responding to a duress alarm in the building, when they were confronted by a male suspect who then stabbed one of them in the neck.

A DOA spokesperson says the officer was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. No one else was injured.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. The Milwaukee Police Department is handling the investigation and search for the suspect.
