Suspect arrested in stabbing of police officer

April 11, 2013 By Andrew Beckett

Milwaukee Police say they have a 25-year-old West Allis man in custody who is suspected of stabbing a Capitol Police officer.

The incident occurred just after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the State Office Building in downtown Milwaukee. Two officers were responding to a duress alarm in the building, when they were confronted by a male suspect who then stabbed one of them in the neck and fled the building.

A DOA spokesperson says the officer was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. No one else was injured.

The Milwaukee Police Department is handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
