Wisconsin man wants to return to Boston Marathon

April 22, 2013 By WRN Contributor

A Fond du Lac runner who competed in the Boston Marathon, the scene of fatal explosions, says he wants to go back there to compete. Ted Eischeid had finished the race about 50 minutes before the first bomb went off. At the time of the explosions he was several blocks away but saw the two blasts.

Eischeid was one of the Boston Marathon runners who spoke during a memorial ceremony for the bombing victims prior to the Oshkosh Half-Marathon Sunday.

It was Eischeid’s second Boston Marathon and his seventh overall. It was supposed to be his last marathon. But on Saturday he registered to run in the Fox Cities Marathon scheduled for this September, hoping to qualify to run in the Boston Marathon again. He wants to get back to pay tribute to the victims and the City of Boston.
