Brewers can’t wait for June

May 30, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers will certainly welcome a change in the calendar month.  With two days left in May, the Brewers are just 5-21 this month, dropping their 5th straight game last night, 4-1 to the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.

Marco Estrada gave up three runs on five hits in the first inning to get saddled with the loss.

The Brewers have been so bad that they’ve trailed for 50 straight innings.  The last time they led was in last Friday’s 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, which is the last time they won a game.

Estrada did settle down and pitch well, working 7-innings and helping salvage the Brewers worn out bullpen.

The Brewers’ worst May in franchise history came in 1987 when they finished 6-18.  They have two games left this month, trying to avoid a new franchise record for fewest wins in the month.
