Estrada was injured throwing a pitch in the 5th inning.

Before Estrada departed, he allowed 9 hits, five earned runs and a walk over 4+ innings.  Two of those hits were home runs to Coco Crisp and Brandon Moss.

The A’s wound up scoring six runs in the 5th.  After Estrada left, Burke Badenhop came on to give up four hits, two walks and three earned runs as the A’s jumped out in front
8-0.

Rickie Weeks hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to break up Tommy Milone’s shutout.

The A’s finished with 19 hits, their 4th straight win and 15th in the last 17 games.  Oakland improved to a season high 11 games over .500.

The Brewers fell 16 1/2 games behind the first place St. Louis Cardinals.  Game 2 of the series is tonight.
