Bucks go to Greece for 1st round pick, deal in the 2nd (AUDIO)

June 28, 2013 By Bill Scott

With the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks took Giannis Antetokounmpo out of Greece.

Antetokounmpo is a 6′ 9″ forward who is just 18-years.  Playing in the Greek A2 League last season, Antetonkounmpo averaged 9.5 points and 5-boards a game.  His upside is said to be huge because of his athleticism.  ESPN’s draft experts called him the “biggest mystery in the draft” because there is not a lot know about him.  Bucks General Manager John Hammond loves his upside…

His nickname is “The Greek Freak.”

With their 2nd round selection, 43rd overall, the Bucks took Providence guard Ricky Ledo.  Milwaukee then reportedly packaged Ledo and a 2014 2nd pick to Philadelphia for 38th pick Nick Wolters out of South Dakota State.  Wolters was 4th in the NCAA in scoring last year and a 3rd team all-American selection as a Senior.
