Drew hires a pair of assistants

New Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Larry Drew added a pair of assistants to his bench Monday.  The entire Bucks coaching staff was let go shortly after Drew was hired.

Bob Bender will join the Bucks coaching staff after spending the last nine seasons in Atlanta as an assistant. Bender also spent time as an assistant in Philly and was a Head Coach at the college level at Washington and Illinois State.

Drew also brings over his director of player development, Nick Van Axel, from the Hawks.  Van Axel is a Kenosha native who played 13-years in the in league including an All-Star appearance in 1998.  He played his High School ball at Kenosha St. Joe’s.
