Home sales in Wisconsin continued to climb last month, marking 26 straight months of growth. The Wisconsin Realtors Association says its members sold almost 14 percent more existing homes in August, compared to the same month in 2013. Median sale prices also jumped 6.3 percent.
Just over 7,500 homes were sold by Realtors in Wisconsin last month. For the first eight months of the year, just over 48,000 homes were sold, marking an increase of just over 13 percent compared to January through August of 2012.
The median home resale price for August was $152,000, a jump of about $9,000 from the same month a year ago. From January through August, WRA said the median sales price was $145,000, an increase of just under eight percent.
