Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews told ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky that he’ll
have the pins removed from his broken right thumb on November 4, the day after the Packers face the Bears in Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field.
If all goes well, Matthews could return the following week against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 10.
Matthews told Demovsky, “I’m hoping for the best, but it was a unique break. I’m praying for the best when they take [the pins] out. It could be as early as Philadelphia. It could be as late as Thanksgiving [at Detroit]. Hopefully, there’s nothing unforeseen when they do that.”
