Schmidt convicted in double murder

October 18, 2013 By WRN Contributor

A jury in Oconto County has found a man guilty in the murders of a brother and sister. Daniel Schmidt was convicted in the 2009 shooting deaths of 32 year-old Kimberly Rose and 21 year-old Leonard Marsh. The victims were killed with a .20 guage shotgun.

Investigators said the married 30 year-old Schmidt and Rose were apparently having an affair. Schmidt pleaded not guilty in the trial, which began earlier this week after having been delayed through the spring and summer. Schmidt was found guilty on both counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Sentencing will take place November 26th.
