Walmart shooting victim out of hospital

October 29, 2013 By WRN Contributor

A 56 year-old women who was the victim of a shooting at a Neenah Walmart spent more than two months in a hospital. Sharon Goffard was at Theda Clark Medical Center since August 14, when she was shot in the stomach area while working in the store’s liquor department. She was released over the weekend.

The shooting suspect, 47-year-old Justine Boyd of Greenville, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Boyd was also a cashier at the Walmart, and court records say she was jealous that Goffard was moved to the liquor department.

Boyd is scheduled to be back in Winnebago County court on Wednesday, and a judge will review a psychologist’s report on whether she is competent to stand trial. That report was delayed because Boyd wasn’t cooperating.
