Freeway ramp blocked by 43,000 pounds of hot soup

November 5, 2013 By WRN Contributor

Hot soup is great on a cold day, but not what a semi driver wanted in Racine County.

The trailer for the rig, hauling 43,000 pounds of Campbell’s soup, caught fire for unexplained reasons, and kept burning on the exit ramp for Highway 20 in Racine County.

The driver managed to disengage and safely move his tractor away, while other motorists called 911 reporting the explosion of tires on the trailer, with flames consuming the consomme and other soup products. Not so mmm mmm good for the company and the bottom line, but no one got hurt, and it was quite a gapers block for a few hours.
